Job summary

Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System seeks a Registered Nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care. The RN will manage admission assessments, care plans and interventions with emphasis on health literacy and disease prevention.

The role requires Nebraska RN licensure (ADN required, BSN preferred) and certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS, with responsibilities spanning inpatient, outpatient, and discharge

Qualifications

• Nebraska RN license or multi-state license
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred; student loan forgiveness available
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the WCHS core mission, vision and values
• Function as primary care Nurse and assume charge nurse duties to provide optimal patient care
• Complete comprehensive initial admission assessment
• Create Nursing Care plan based on initial assessment
• Provide interventions as ordered by MD/NP/PA
• Evaluate patient response and notify provider as needed
• Obtain specimen collection
• Generate consults to appropriate discipline
• Assist with discharge planning
• Provide vaccines before discharge
• Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Float to areas of need (Outpatient, ER) or assist with emergency response
• Make decisions in matters of significance
• Other duties as assigned
