Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Inc. seeks a Clinical Assistant (CA) to support the Medical/Surgical/Inpatient units. Under RN supervision, you will take and record vital signs, assist with tests and specimen collection, and help patients with daily living activities.

The role emphasizes timely communication, accurate documentation, and a harmonious team environment. Prior CNA experience and BLS are valued for entrance into this bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, GED or equivalent work experience with ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
• Previous nurse aide experience or completed nurse aide training or related clinical experience with patient care activities.
• AHA-BLS required within 6 months of hire or valid current BLS honored until renewal date.
• Competency to perform Heimlich Maneuver.
• Positive communication skills in daily duties.
• Ability to work under pressure, complete tasks, and relate to patients and staff.
• Basic computer skills expected.
• Willingness to meet CVPH education requirements.
• Pre-employment screening and physical exam required.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize duties.

Responsabilités

• Patient Care: assist RNs in providing responsive, service-oriented patient care.
• Testing: assist with tests and specimen collection as directed by nurses.
• Clerical: serve as the unit front desk, ensuring friendly customer service and accurate documentation.
