You will plan, direct, and coordinate the CDI staff's operational and personnel activities, ensuring high-quality documentation and adherence to Mayo Clinic standards.

The role emphasizes staff growth, development, and training, with potential ICDI DRG secondary reviews and audit support.

Qualifications

• Associate’s and 8 years of experience as an Inpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS) OR Bachelor’s and 6 years experience as an Inpatient Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CDIS).
• Certifications (All three areas below required)

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership based on Mayo Clinic values and oversees the Inpatient CDI staff.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates operational and personnel activities of the Inpatient CDI staff.
• Advocates for and allocates resources to ensure quality services.
• Responsible for staff growth and development and orientation/training of new employees.
• May perform ICDI DRG Secondary Reviews and support audit activities.
• Demonstrates analytical thinking and ensures compliance with program measures.
• May require occasional travel.
