UnitedHealth Group's Optum 360 seeks a Clinical Document Improvement Specialist Manager to oversee CDI programs and inpatient documentation for our clients. You will lead staff, provide training, and ensure accurate, complete documentation that reflects care decisions and patient severity.

The role involves collaboration with the CDI Director, physicians, and HIM teams, with on-site leadership and 24-48 hour review targets. Travel to facilities twice weekly is required.

Qualificações

• 5+ years acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR Medical Graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP)
• 2+ years of experience communicating & presenting to Physicians
• Proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Electronic Medical Records
• Ability to work in Owensboro, Kentucky
• 10-25% travel; must have reliable transportation, a driver’s license, insurance and a clean driving record.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts chart audits, quality audit and KPI audits
• Conducts CDI Manager with running reports, attends on site meetings as directed
• Oversees CDI staff training and orientation
• Oversees and leads workflow for CDI staff
• Develops physician teaching and on-site presentations
• Assist CDI Director with projects or tasks as needed
• Timecard approval
• Coaching
• Evaluations
• Other duties as assigned
• Communicates performance expectations of leadership to CDI staff
• Oversee CDI staff review of inpatient records within 24-48 hours of admit; identify gaps in documentation
• Provide follow-up with providers to obtain needed documentation
• Lead physician education strategies for improved documentation
• Ensure timely feedback to providers on opportunities for improvement
• Ensure effective use of CAC tool and documentation of clarifications
• Coordinate regular meetings with HIM Coding Professionals
• Engage with Physician Advisor when needed
• Engage with Quality Management teams
