Inpatient Care Coordinator - Remote in PST, MST OR CST

This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, with flexible shifts between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST, including weekend rotation and occasional overtime. We provide 4-8 weeks of paid virtual training from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, conducted remotely from your home. If based in PST, MST, or CST, you can work remotely while tackling meaningful challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to patients
  • Arrange post-discharge appointments within 7 days
  • Create authorizations within 7 days, ensuring accurate patient details
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment across multiple software platforms
  • Prioritize tasks and stay organized for prompt responses
  • Exhibit behaviors and communication demonstrating Optum's commitment to superior patient service
  • Engage in high-level critical thinking for call redirection, authorizations, and issue resolution
  • Follow departmental processes and procedures
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Operate independently in a virtual environment
  • Meet and exceed productivity targets
  • Handle protected health information per HIPAA standards
  • Be a team player and perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 or older
  • At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare-related customer service role
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and navigating multiple chat channels in Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST, with weekend rotation and occasional overtime
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 1 year of call center experience
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
Telecommuting Requirements
  • Reside within PST, MST, or CST zones
  • Maintain a secure, dedicated work area
  • Have or leverage high-speed internet connection as approved by UnitedHealth Group
  • Adhere to the company's telecommuting policies

The hourly pay ranges from $16.00 to $28.85, depending on experience, location, and other factors. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock options, and 401k contributions.
