Harris Health System, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support inpatient patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse on medical-surgical units.

The role requires basic patient care activities, medical terminology knowledge, strong communication, and computer skills to assist nurses and ensure smooth patient flow. The PCA II works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to meet patient needs, while adhering to safety protocols and professional standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Two years related clinical experience (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable).
• Licenses & Certifications: CNA/ CMA/ EMT-Basic; BLS; Aggression Management within 90 days; EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency validation as applicable within 6 months; other certificates as required by unit/service/clinic.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient care needs are met.
• Demonstrate personal and professional effectiveness and maintain patient safety measures.
