Job summary

Harris Health in Houston seeks a Patient Care Assistant II to support patient care activities on inpatient nursing units under the supervision of a registered nurse. The PCA II works closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient care needs are met and adheres to safety measures.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and certifications such as CNA, CMA or EMT-B, plus BLS and other unit-specific certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant, CMA or EMT-B certification required or in progress per unit.
• BLS certification from an AHA program required.
• Aggression Management cert within 90 days of hire.
• EKG/Phlebotomy competency validation within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient care activities under RN supervision on inpatient units.
• Collaborate with charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient care needs are met.
• Model and practice patient safety measures and professional behavior.
• Demonstrate basic patient care skills, medical terminology and communication.
