Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Pasadena seeks a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support nursing staff in a psychiatric setting. You will assist with patient care, monitor safety, and apply therapeutic de-escalation techniques while documenting observations and nutritional data.

Requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and CNA certification or equivalent bedside experience. The role emphasizes empathy, teamwork and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; required in some states, not all.
• Current CNA certification or 6 months of bedside care experience preferred.
• Strong reading, writing and communication abilities.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities as trained.
• Monitor patient conditions and report observations to the nurse.
• Follow safety, infection control, and de‑escalation procedures.
• Document patient observations and dietary and vital sign data.
• Collaborate with team to ensure a therapeutic milieu.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
