Job summary

Horizon Health, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, seeks a Program Secretary for Abbeville General Hospital (Abbeville, LA) to support an inpatient psychiatric unit. The role handles daily administrative tasks and HR-related duties, including onboarding and I-9 processing.

The Program Secretary coordinates with supervisors, maintains files, handles correspondence, and supports HR during pre/post-employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1-3 years of working experience in a similar role
• Valid driver's license and use of an automobile
• Crisis Prevention
• Keeps up to date on professional literature

Responsibilities

• Answer the phone and prepare correspondence, reports, and filing
• Schedule meetings and greet visitors, patients and families
• Coordinate with HR during pre/post-employment processes (I-9, onboarding)
• Create and maintain employee files and HR documents
• Maintain filing and court paperwork schedule; liaise with court personnel
• Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy
• Order office supplies and oversee maintenance of equipment
• Provide data entry support (HBIPS, CQI, census, training docs, audits)
• Perform other duties as assigned
