Job summary

Holland Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Assistant for the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit in Holland, MI. The role supports the RN team, provides direct patient care, and helps implement treatment plans in a 18-bed unit serving adults 18+.

This part-time position (48 hours every two weeks) offers evenings 7:00 pm–7:30 am with every third weekend, and requires a HS diploma/GED and BLS within 60 days of hire. Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider completed within 60 days after hire.
• Experience with adult psychiatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care tasks under RN supervision.
• Develop therapeutic relationships and report significant behaviors to the RN team leader.
• Participate in admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Support unit maintenance including inventory, stocking, and cleaning of patient care areas.
