Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a dedicated administrative coordinator to coordinate inpatient and observation bed assignments across ED, PACU, and direct admits for multiple sites. You will create accounts in EPIC for direct admissions and transfers, and coordinate decedent releases with funeral homes.

In this role, you will collaborate with Capacity Command Center teams to promote efficient patient movement, manage calls, and ensure timely, accurate documentation and insurance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently, with teamwork when needed.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent telephone skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign beds for all sites from ED, PACU, and direct admissions.
• Manage calls and open transfer center case records for RNs to complete.
• Coordinate decedent affairs and releases to funeral directors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hospital insurance processes and account creation.
• Coordinate and problem-solve to expedite patient flow; prevent bottlenecks across LVHN campuses.
• Maintain working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Prioritize tasks to support efficient inpatient movement.
