Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Bed Management Coordinator to support inpatient and observation bed assignments across ED, PACU and direct admits. This per diem night position requires teamwork and strong organizational skills.

You will collaborate with units and the Transfer Center to promote efficient patient movement, manage transfer calls, and ensure accurate bed status updates across LVHN campuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of insurances and medical terminology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
• Excellent telephone skills.

Responsibilities

• Assigns beds for all sites from ED, PACU, and direct admissions.
• Manages telephone calls and creates transfer center case records.
• Handles decedent affairs and coordinates transfers with funeral directors.
• Knows hospital insurance and completes account creation.
• Provides excellent telephone support and problem solving.
• Coordinates to expedite patient flow and reduces bottlenecks in ED/PACU across LVHN campuses.
