Job summary

Community Unit School District No. 308 is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide direct services to students with disabilities aged 3–21.

The role involves collaboration with general and special education staff to determine appropriate programming and ongoing progress monitoring. The position requires an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS I endorsement, strong communication, and time-management skills, and prior special education experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, team members, and others.
• Recent special education teaching experience (except for new graduates).

Responsibilities

• Provide services to students with disabilities from ages 3-21.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff for appropriate programming.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and participate as an IEP team member.
• Screen and evaluate students and write reports with educational program recommendations.
• Monitor progress and maintain data on student performance.
• Communicate with parents and staff about student performance and needs.
