Job summary

The Special Education Teacher at Sd308 provides direct services to students with disabilities aged 3–21 and collaborates with general and special education staff to determine eligibility and appropriate programming. The role manages a caseload and participates as an IEP team member to monitor progress.

Responsibilities include MTSS collaboration, evaluation reporting, and maintaining documentation to support student outcomes while aligning with district policies and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS I endorsement.
• Experience teaching students with disabilities preferred if not a new graduate.
• Ability to write and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Provide MTSS prereferral intervention consultation to staff.
• Collaborate with staff during team meetings and district committees.
• Screen and evaluate students; write reports with educational program recommendations.
• Re-evaluate students as recommended by IEP team.
• Maintain data on student performance and progress.
