Job summary

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with disabilities ages 3–21. The role includes direct instruction, IEP development, and collaboration with general and special education staff to plan and monitor student progress.

You will serve on the IEP team, manage a caseload, and contribute to district MTSS initiatives while adhering to district policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS I endorsement required.
• Recent special education teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of teaching techniques for students with disabilities.
• Ability to write and implement IEPs.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct special education services to students with disabilities aged 3–21.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff and participate in IEP meetings.
• Manage a caseload of students and monitor progress and eligibility.
• Contribute to MTSS prereferral intervention strategies and team meetings.
• Maintain records, reports, and data documenting student progress.
