Ombudsman Educational Services, part of ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, seeks a Special Education Teacher to lead instruction for grades 6-12 in an alternative education setting.

You will design personalized learning, deliver differentiated instruction, and integrate educational software to support diverse learners while aligning with state standards. Collaboration with staff and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
• Master’s degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field preferred.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid NE state teaching credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a NE state special education instruction credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
• Prior experience working with curriculum development, classroom management, differentiation, and instruction; preferably in an alternate, special education or behavioral health program setting.
• Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorder, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
• Prior experience and highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
• Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for at-risk students with diverse needs at various levels.
• Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
• Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
• Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

Responsabilités

• Lead the instructional process for students in Grades 6-12 with IEPs, designing dynamic and personalized learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted instruction and utilize innovative curriculum resources and educational software.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned to curriculum standards.
• Track and document student progress, maintain accurate files and generate progress reports.
• Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in co-teaching settings to meet IEP goals.
• Adapt curricular content and instructional approaches for diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Utilize varied instructional methods and resources to support diverse student needs.
• Manage student caseloads including developing and implementing IEPs and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans and organize instructional materials.
