Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for elementary students. The role focuses on leading instruction for students with IEPs, delivering differentiated lessons, and collaborating with staff to support growth in a dynamic educational environment.

Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience. IL licensure is preferred, with potential processing of needed credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field.
• Active IL educator credentials or in process with PEL, SSE, or LBS1.
• Experience with IEPs and special education services.
• Knowledge of PBIS and behavior support strategies.
• Experience in curriculum development and differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs.
• Design personalized learning experiences and lesson plans.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in co‑teaching or individual settings.
• Utilize educational software and curriculum resources effectively.
• Maintain student records and document progress regularly.
• Collaborate with parents, staff, and administrators.
• Implement PBIS strategies and positive behavior supports.
• Adapt content to diverse learning needs and emergencies.
