Murfreesboro City Schools is seeking a Comprehensive Development Teacher in the Special Education Department. The role requires direct instructional and consultative services for students with disabilities and active participation in IEP development and team meetings.

Candidates must hold a Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements, a B.S. in Special Education, and the ability to work with students pre-school through sixth grade. The position is 200 days with local salary terms.

Formación

• Holds Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements.
• Must meet health, physical and background check requirements.
• Must hold valid Tennessee teacher's license with endorsement in #460, #461, or #105.
• Must have B.S. in Special Education.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations for services to students with disabilities.
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct instructional and/or consultative services to eligible students with disabilities as per IEPs.
• Attend IEP-Team meetings to determine eligibility and develop IEPs.
• Consult with general education teachers on accommodations and materials for students with disabilities.
• Conduct required student assessments to determine eligibility for services.
• Administer data-gathering assessments to guide instruction and discuss data with staff and parents.
• Develop and maintain student IEPs and required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Manage day-to-day classroom operations.
• Plan curriculum and prepare lessons considering individual student needs and limitations.
• Maintain a disciplined classroom that welcomes learning.
• Participate in faculty meetings, conferences, and professional development.
• Maintain professional endorsements and licensure through ongoing training.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
