Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking Math Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year at independent schools in the Philadelphia area. The role involves delivering engaging math lessons across levels, employing varied teaching methods, and collaborating to refine curriculum.

A strong math background and experience in private or independent schools are preferred. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Math or Math Education, with a master’s degree preferred for advanced courses.

Qualifications

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Math or Math Education; master's preferred for advanced courses.
• Experience teaching math at middle or high school, preferably in private/independent schools.
• Experience designing hands-on experiments.
• Experience with AP/IB math is a plus.
• Ability to integrate technology into math instruction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging math lessons for various levels, e.g., middle school, high school, or advanced courses.
• Use diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, activities, and experiments.
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with faculty to create and refine curriculum materials to meet school goals.
• Maintain an orderly classroom environment, address behavior, and promote respect for others.
• Encourage and guide students in collaborative group work and individual tasks.
• Provide timely feedback to students on progress and offer guidance to improve.
• Offer office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring for extra help.
