Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Math or Math Education; master's preferred for advanced courses.
  • Experience teaching math at middle or high school, preferably in private/independent schools.
  • Experience designing hands-on experiments.
  • Experience with AP/IB math is a plus.
  • Ability to integrate technology into math instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging math lessons for various levels, e.g., middle school, high school, or advanced courses.
  • Use diverse teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, activities, and experiments.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with faculty to create and refine curriculum materials to meet school goals.
  • Maintain an orderly classroom environment, address behavior, and promote respect for others.
  • Encourage and guide students in collaborative group work and individual tasks.
  • Provide timely feedback to students on progress and offer guidance to improve.
  • Offer office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring for extra help.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience teaching math at the middle or high school level, particularly in a private or independent school setting, is preferred.
  • Experience in designing and delivering hands-on experiments.
  • Experience with advanced courses (e.g., AP Math, IB Math) may be a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of math principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Skills in assessing and addressing diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Ability to integrate technology effectively into math instruction, such as through simulations and multimedia presentations.
