Job summary

Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking Math Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in the San Francisco area. Independent schools will host positions across middle to advanced math levels.

Responsibilities include developing engaging lessons, employing diverse teaching methods, and collaborating on curriculum. Strong communication and classroom management are essential; AP/IB exposure is a plus. Positions include on-site duties with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math or related field.
• Teaching experience at middle or high school level, preferably in private/independent schools.
• Experience delivering hands-on experiments and hands-on activities.
• Ability to teach advanced courses (AP/IB) is a plus.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging math lessons for varying levels.
• Use diverse teaching methods: lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, experiments.
• Prepare lesson plans, materials, and assessments aligned with standards.
• Foster a positive learning environment encouraging curiosity and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with faculty to refine curriculum materials and meet school goals.
• Maintain an orderly classroom and address student behavior.
• Encourage group work and individual task engagement.
• Provide timely feedback on progress and offer guidance for improvement.
• Offer office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring as needed.
