Job summary

Samost Jewish Family and Children's Service of Southern New Jersey seeks an experienced Chef to lead the Senior Congregate Meal Program on-site. You will plan nutritious menus, order ingredients, manage budgets, and supervise a team including a sous chef and kitchen volunteers.

Ensure Kashrut standards, health department compliance, and high cleanliness and safety in the kitchen while coordinating with health officials and vendors. Serve Safe certification is required.

Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification is required.
• Experience with large-scale food service operations is required.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook; inventory and bookkeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute nutritious menus for the Senior Congregate Meal Program.
• Manage budgeting for ingredients, staff, and equipment.
• Recruit, train, and supervise sous chefs and kitchen volunteers; coordinate Kashrut with Vaad.
