Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Chef for the Senior Congregate Meal Program on site in Cherry Hill, NJ. The role requires Serve Safe certification, large-scale food service experience, and proficiency with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

• Large scale food service operation experience.
• Bookkeeping and inventory management experience.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
• Supervisory experience.
• Nutrition education.
• Kosher food guideline experience.

Responsibilities

• Create nutritious and appetizing menus for the Senior Congregate Meal Program according to Camden County regulations and guidance.
• Create and work within budget parameters to order ingredients and supplies efficiently.
• Recruit, train, and manage sous chef and kitchen volunteers to ensure performance and teamwork.
• Develop schedules, oversee work assignments and coordinate with Vaad for Kashrut standards.
• Ensure kitchen operations meet health department standards and regulations and maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
• Collaborate with health department officials to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and pass inspections.
