Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is seeking an experienced Chef for the on-site Senior Congregate Meal Program in partnership with Camden County Division of Senior Services. Lead menu planning, budgeting, staff supervision, and compliance with Kashrut and health standards.

Responsibilities include ordering ingredients, managing expenses, supervising kitchen volunteers, ensuring safety, and coordinating with Vaad and inspectors to pass health and Kashrut requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale food service operations.
• Experience with bookkeeping and inventory management.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook).
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in kitchen teams.
• Nutrition education background helpful.
• Kosher food guideline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Menu planning and execution for the Senior Congregate Meal Program.
• Budget planning and monitoring of food costs and supplies.
• Recruiting and supervising kitchen staff and volunteers.
• Ensure health, safety, and Kashrut compliance; pass inspections.
• Coordinate with Vaad for Kashrut standards.
