Job summary

JFCS of Southern New Jersey seeks an experienced Chef for the Senior Congregate Meal Program, on-site in New Jersey. Lead menu planning, budgeting, and staff supervision, coordinating with the Vaad for Kashrut and health department standards.

Responsibilities include ordering ingredients via JCCs platform, ensuring nutrition and kosher compliance, and maintaining safety and cleanliness. Serve Safe certification is required.

Qualifications

• Current Serve Safe Certification.
• Experience in large-scale food service operation.
• Bookkeeping and inventory management experience.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
• Supervisory experience.
• Nutrition education.
• Kosher guidelines experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute nutritious menus for the Senior Congregate Meal Program.
• Order ingredients using the JCCs platform and preferred vendors.
• Develop and manage budgets for ingredients and supplies.
• Recruit and supervise sous chef and kitchen volunteers; schedule tasks.
• Ensure health, safety, cleanliness, and kosher guidelines compliance.
• Coordinate with health department and Kashrut authorities.
