Job summary

Silent-Aire, a division of Johnson Controls, is seeking an Equipment Designer/Drafter to create, modify, and manage detailed 2D and 3D models for engineering, architectural, or product development projects. You will translate concepts into accurate technical drawings ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities include producing 2D drawings and 3D models, interpreting sketches, collaborating with engineers, and maintaining version-controlled documentation and BOMs.

Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology.
• 2–5 years of professional CAD drafting experience.
• Proficiency in Inventor and Creo.
• Strong reading of drawings and GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Produce and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as Inventor, Creo, Revit or similar tools.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and design notes to develop accurate technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other designers to ensure design intent is fully captured.
• Maintain drawing accuracy through version control, documentation updates, and adherence to drafting standards ASME Y14.
• Prepare layouts, assemblies, detail drawings, and BOMs as required.
• Conduct basic design calculations or checks to validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback efficiently.
• Support the development of manufacturing, construction, or fabrication packages.
• Identify design issues and propose practical solutions to improve manufacturability or constructability.
