Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and provide written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons accommodating different student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Plan and use instructional strategies, materials, and equipment matching student needs and learning styles.
• Assess student learning and use results to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Work with staff to determine goals, objectives, and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Utilize technology to strengthen teaching/learning processes.
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement.
• Possibly sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model and support district mission.
• Create a conducive classroom environment for development.
• Manage student behavior per Code of Conduct.
• Protect students and school property.
• Assist in selecting instructional materials.
• Maintain open communication with parents and staff.
• Participate in staff development and adhere to policies.
• Attend meetings and serve on committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
