Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking a CTE - Principles of Technology teacher to join our team. You will deliver instruction aligned with district curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff to support diverse learners.

Required: Bachelor's degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements. This full-time role reports to the Principal and involves service on campus committees as well as sponsorship of activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials that reflect student needs.
• Assess student learning and use results to plan instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEP guidance.
• Coordinate with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Plan and supervise teacher aide(s) and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities with campus approval.
• Be a positive role model and support district mission.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and development.
• Manage student behavior per Student Code of Conduct.
• Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assist in selection of instructional materials.
• Establish and maintain open communication with parents and staff.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community.
• Communicate information clearly and accurately.
• Participate in staff development activities.
• Keep informed of policies and school regulations.
• Compile and file required reports and documents.
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
