Job summary

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to district curriculum.
• Plan lessons with accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Use diverse instructional strategies and materials to meet student needs.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Set instructional goals with staff and align to district requirements.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Incorporate technology to enhance learning.
• Guide students in improving study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement using formal and informal methods.
• Support extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model and uphold school district mission.
