Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an R&D Product Development Engineer in Anderson, SC to drive the design, development and successful launch of Busway products. The role collaborates with Offering Management, Marketing and Sales to meet market needs and standards.

Responsibilities include creating specs, 3D/2D design, prototyping, testing coordination and documentation. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in R&D design and strong CAD/PLM skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/design technology or equivalent, combination of education & experience.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling using SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or equivalent 3D design package.
• 3D modeling, 2D drafting (first angle and Third angle projection), GD&T.
• Proficiency in PLM software, and other relevant software applications.
• Strong organization skills, and ability to work & multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Time management skills.
• Excellent written & verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be action & detail-oriented with strong problem resolution, analysis, & decision-making skills.
• Must be motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to interact seamlessly with other departments and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Define product specifications, features, and functionalities, while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Develop product designs per Product Standards (IEC61439 & UL857).
• 3D modelling and 2D drafting of product designs.
• Align with the culture of innovation within the product development team.
• Work closely with external suppliers and partners to source components and materials.
• Adherence to NPDI process and completion of relevant documentation.
• Stay current with technological advancements and industry developments.
• Build prototypes to support development of product design.
• Coordinate testing for development and certification accordingly.
• Follow the Engineering change process for existing products.
• Demonstrate Ethics and Integrity.
• Product Risk Assessment through DFMEA.
• Organization of drawings and documentation for reference.
• Timely, accurate responses to requests for design information and drawings.
• Other duties as assigned.
