Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory seeks an inaugural Associate Laboratory Director for the Innovation, Science, and Security Directorate. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for diverse science and national security programs, and stewardship of unique user facilities.

The ALD reports to the Laboratory Director and chairs cross-cutting initiatives affecting the Lab's science strategy. The ALD will partner with senior leaders to drive safety, risk management, and operational

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant science/tech field with 15+ years related experience.
• 10+ years of demonstrated management experience leading multi-disciplinary programs.
• Proven ability to develop and execute scientific strategy with critical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the ISS Directorate and its user facilities.
• Oversee relationships with DOE sponsors and other agencies.
• Identify and implement strategic lab-wide opportunities and partnerships.
• Manage funds, facilities, and capital with a focus on safety and compliance.
• Represent ISS on lab committees and working groups.
