Job summary

The National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) seeks an Associate Laboratory Director to lead the Materials, Chemical and Computational Sciences directorate, providing strategic vision and operational leadership in a large R&D environment.

You will build partnerships with DOE, industry, academia, and government sponsors, guide talent development, and ensure safety, compliance, and high-impact research across computational science, materials science, and chemistry and nanoscience.

Qualifications

Fifteen years of relevant work experience including senior leadership at a large R&D organization.
Proven track record with strategic planning, relationships with stakeholders up to Board level.
Experience with the Department of Energy or a similarly funded entity in a senior research management role.
Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and inspirational leadership for the MCCS directorate.
Align scientific portfolio with DOE and NLR priorities and drive research excellence.
Develop and strengthen partnerships with DOE, government sponsors, industry, and academia.
Foster talent development and an innovation-driven culture across MCCS.
