Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the Enterprise Digital Technology Innovation Lab as the technical authority, translating business problems into prototypes, pilots, and production-ready solutions.

You will provide technical leadership, design full-stack AI-enabled applications, mentor engineers, and drive governance and standards, collaborating with cybersecurity, data, and business teams to accelerate innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience with hands-on delivery and leadership.
• 8+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
• 7+ years full-stack experience across front-end, back-end, cloud, APIs, databases, and DevOps.
• 5+ years architecting scalable, secure, cloud-native systems.
• 3+ years of recent AI/ML or generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for Innovation Lab initiatives.
• Design, build, and review full-stack software solutions and AI-enabled applications.
• Prototype concepts rapidly and validate with business stakeholders.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and governance.
• Partner with ED&T, cybersecurity, architecture, data, and business teams to accelerate innovation.
• Mentor engineers and build the lab's long-term technical capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability to Stryker.
