Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead the Enterprise Digital Technology Innovation Lab as the technical authority. You will translate problems into prototypes and pilots, drive rapid experimentation, and transition successful solutions to delivery teams.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and collaborate across ED&T, cybersecurity, data, and business units to accelerate innovation. This role demands deep full-stack skills and AI experience.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience with hands-on delivery.
• 8+ years in senior technical leadership roles (Chief/Principal Engineer, etc.).
• 7+ years full-stack experience across front-end, back-end, cloud, APIs, and DevOps.
• 5+ years architecting scalable, secure, cloud-native systems.
• 3+ years in AI, ML, or generative AI with hands-on projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architecture direction for Innovation Lab initiatives.
• Design, build, and review full-stack AI-enabled applications.
• Prototype concepts and validate with business stakeholders.
• Establish engineering standards and governance for the lab.
• Collaborate across ED&T, cybersecurity, data, and business teams.
• Mentor engineers and grow the lab's technical capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability to Stryker.
