Job summary

Stryker Corporation is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer for the Enterprise Digital Technology Innovation Lab. You will serve as the lead software engineer and technical authority, translating business problems into prototypes, pilots, and production-ready solutions.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and collaborate across ED&T, cybersecurity, data, and business teams to accelerate innovation, with a focus on rapid experimentation and value realization across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 10+ years software engineering experience with hands-on delivery and leadership.
• 8+ years in senior technical leadership roles (Chief Engineer/Architect/etc).
• 7+ years of deep full-stack engineering across front-end, back-end, cloud, APIs, and DevOps.
• 5+ years architecting scalable, cloud-native, enterprise-grade systems.
• 3+ years of applied AI, ML, or generative AI experience with hands-on AI-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architecture direction for Innovation Lab initiatives.
• Design, build, and review full stack software solutions and AI-enabled applications.
• Prototype concepts rapidly and validate ideas with business stakeholders.
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, and governance for the lab.
• Partner across ED&T, cybersecurity, architecture, data, and business teams to accelerate innovation.
• Mentor engineers and build the lab's long-term technical capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for applicability to Stryker.
