Job summary

Berks Libraries is seeking a Treatment Caseworker to conduct intake interviews, assess inmates, and provide case management within a secure facility. The role includes coordinating with parole authorities, creating confidential records, and ensuring timely intakes and assessments.

Responsibilities include inmate orientation, liaison with community providers, and performing data collection and documentation. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and government experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • One (1) year of experience in a government setting.
  • Equivalents allowed (experience and training).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake interviews, assessments, and screens within 48 hours of admission.
  • Provide orientation to newly committed inmates within 48 hours.
  • Prepare paperwork for inmate files and track intakes.
  • Coordinate contact with community service providers and parole authorities.
  • Perform data gathering, record keeping, and basic clerical tasks.
  • Handle communication forms and distribute responses to inmates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
