Job summary

Franklin County Sheriff's Office is seeking a records clerk to maintain inmate records and support operations in the jail management system. The role involves updating inmate custody data, logging movements, and handling intake information with accuracy.

You will respond to inquiries from staff, inmates, and the public, perform data entry at about 25 wpm, and pursue LEADS certification. A High School Diploma or GED is required; training will cover state laws, records management, and office

Qualifications

• Knowledge of records management, state laws and office rules governing inmate records.
• Skill in technical writing or business communication.
• Ability to gather, collate and classify data.
• Ability to deal with sensitive inquiries from officials, inmates, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate computer to add, delete and retrieve information in the jail management system.
• Update and log inmate movements and statuses.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, inmates, and the public, in person or by phone.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
