Job summary

Central Georgia Technical College seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach business and customer service courses to inmates at the Riverbend Correctional Facility in Milledgeville, GA. Classes run 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some travel to other sites as needed.

The position emphasizes use of approved teaching techniques, grading practices, and maintaining records. A Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience are required, and adjunct appointments are time-limited,

Qualifications

• Must upload transcripts showing conferred educational degrees
• Earned Bachelor’s Degree in education, business, or a related field
• Documented one year teaching experience in postsecondary education or one year customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Teach inmates in the correctional setting in customer service, computer, job search, job interview and re-entry skills
• Demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques and conduct grading using approved procedures including maintenance of grade books
• Follow approved course syllabus and meet program requirements, including professional development
• Meet with students and college personnel to discuss instructional programs and other issues
• Evaluate progress toward goals and objectives and complete reports, records and invoices timely
• Maintain inventory and ensure compliance with TCSG policy and accreditation standards
• Adhere to Georgia Department of Corrections rules and facility schedules
• Position may require travel to campus or other correctional facilities as needed
