Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or 5-8 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge: insurance products/coverage, market segments and regulatory environment.
• Advanced knowledge: underwriting, pricing, risk selection, territory management.

Responsabilités

• Write new accounts and grow agent/broker relationships and pursue renewals.
• Crunch numbers and review data to determine risk selection, premiums, policies and conditions.
• Present proposals, negotiate deals and obtain approvals.
• Mentor underwriters and share best practices.
• Document account reviews, state-compliant sign-offs and referrals and follow underwriting guidelines.
