Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an Inland Marine Territory Manager to serve as the primary relationship manager within a territory for large, complex, or specialty commercial lines. You will underwrite, market and manage new and renewal accounts, drive profits, and lead sales strategies with agencies or brokers.

Role requires extensive underwriting experience, sales development, and strong partnerships. The position supports Nationwide’s Inland Marine business and involves travel, with options for remote

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of progressively responsible middle market commercial lines underwriting experience.
• Two to five years of sales and business development experience in middle market commercial lines.
• Excellent interpersonal and sales skills.
• Knowledge of state statutes and regulations.
• Ability to build and maintain cooperative and mutually rewarding internal and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, market and manage new and renewal commercial lines business for assigned agencies or brokers.
• Develop sales strategies and processes to drive new sales and retention.
• Lead agency visits and maintain strong relationships with agencies and brokers.
• Monitor market conditions and assess risk to win accounts.
• Collaborate with other lines of business to increase Nationwide presence.
• Meet profit and premium goals through business planning and execution.
