Job summary

Ashton North LLC is recruiting an Inkjet Application Engineer to drive production of a custom printing platform for flexible electronics. The role focuses on optimizing inkjet and micro‑pen delivery systems, solving hardware and software challenges, and advancing milestones for electronic components used in defense and commercial markets.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in inkjet/app development or additive manufacturing, with at least 2 years in electronics/RF/microwave. U.S.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance.
7+ years in inkjet/application development or additive manufacturing; 2+ years in electronic/RF/microwave components.
Advanced knowledge of industrial inkjet systems, piezoelectric/thermal printheads, waveform tuning, micro‑pen dispensers, rheology.
Ability to troubleshoot industrial printers, debug hardware/software, and refine print files.

Responsibilities

Test inks, printheads, and substrates for print quality, cycle time, compatibility and requirements.
Operate and optimize industrial inkjet printers and micro‑pen dispensers for high‑precision electronics.
Evaluate fluid‑structure interactions and tune printing waveforms for flexible/RF/microwave electronics.
Partner with sales to define customer requirements, configure custom printing solutions, prototypes, and cost estimates.
Conduct PoC evaluations on specialized electronics substrates.
Prepare technical reports, application guides, and SOPs; support DoD/government contracts.
