Job summary

Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL is seeking a Molding Technician to maintain, repair, and optimize high‑speed molding machinery for food and beverage packaging components. This hands‑on role supports a stable Fortune 500 manufacturer dedicated to safety, continuous improvement, and employee development.

You will set up and troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, monitor production systems, and ensure quality and GMP compliance while collaborating with operations and maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience as a molding technician, mold mechanic, or related maintenance role.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, process, and troubleshoot molding machinery and auxiliary equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance per schedule to maximize uptime and product quality
• Ensure parts meet all quality and safety requirements
• Monitor and maintain chiller and production system performance
• Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and management teams
• Maintain accurate documentation according to GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety standards
• Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and teamwork
