Job summary

Magna Exteriors is seeking a Molding Process Engineer to optimize injection molding operations and support tool/process development. You will work with the Production Team Leader to improve efficiency and resolve quality issues, leveraging automation know‑how and plastics processing experience.

The role requires an associate degree in a technical field and several years of molding experience, with opportunities for growth within Magna's global Exteriors group.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; six years of related experience may substitute for degree.
• Course work related to injection molding is an asset.
• Three years minimum injection molding experience preferred.
• Experience processing plastics and setting tools is required.
• Knowledge of automation systems and controls is a must.

Responsibilities

• Initiate machine process, adjust within tolerance, and suggest improvements for efficiency with the Molding Process Engineering Manager.
• Monitor injection molding processes to ensure smooth, efficient operation.
• Resolve process or product non-conformities as requested by the Production Team Leader or Production Manager.
• Assist in set-up and start-up of new tools and resins for trials.
