Job summary

BD is hiring a Molding Technician in Columbus, NE to setup and operate injection molding presses, ensuring production, quality and housekeeping align with GMP and BD quality systems.

You will run presses within validated parameters, inspect parts, diagnose issues, and implement continuous improvements while maintaining thorough documentation. A high school diploma is required, with prior molding experience preferred and strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous molding experience preferred.
• Scientific molding technique knowledge preferred.
• General mechanical aptitude required.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Ability to keep and maintain detailed documentation/communication.
• Independent thinking and teamwork valued; leadership skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Keep the line running and restart press as needed.
• Perform periodical part inspection and troubleshoot molding processes.
• Maintain equipment with PMs and document results.
• Verify molds run within validated parameters and meet acceptance criteria.
• Assist with setup and maintenance of auxiliary equipment and repairs.
• Adhere to Quality Specifications and safety/environmental procedures.
• Relieve others and train mold utilities during breaks/absences.
• Promote cooperation across shifts, QA, and management to meet production goals.
