Job summary

Vital Plastics LLC is seeking a Project Engineer for our plastics division. The role coordinates engineering activities from quotation to production transfer, ensuring scope, timelines, and budgets are met. Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and 5+ years in plastic injection molding with SolidWorks proficiency.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage tooling development, and maintain clear documentation and status updates for customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years in plastic injection molding.
• Thorough understanding of injection molds and molding processes.
• Knowledge of local tool shops and their capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD system.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication to lead technical discussions and document status.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, specifications, and requirements to determine project scope.
• Evaluate designs, tooling, materials, and manufacturing needs for feasibility.
• Develop technical quotations and coordinate with Sales.
• Lead projects through design, tooling development, validation, and transfer to production.
• Coordinate kickoff, first production run, and production transfer meetings.
• Communicate progress and risks to customers and internal teams.
• Review quality criteria and CAD models for tooling and production needs.
• Identify risks, implement corrective actions to minimize delays.
• Coordinate with tooling shops, suppliers, and internal departments.
