Actalent is seeking an Injection Molding Engineer to drive continuous improvement in molding and automation work cells at our Spartanburg facility. You will troubleshoot processes, review new mold tooling, lead supplier runoffs, and support APQP activities, including PFMEAs and process validations.

The role partners with Product Development to meet DFM and customer requirements, leads validation trials, and ensures ISO/IATF compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline required.
• 3+ years in an injection molding facility.
• 2+ years supporting mold design review and approvals.
• Proficient with MS Office; CAD experience (AutoCAD or SolidWorks).

Job Title: Injection Molding Engineer

Drive continuous improvement initiatives for molding and automation work cells to reduce cost, improve quality, enhance safety, and optimize ergonomics. Troubleshoot molding processes, tooling, and equipment issues; implement corrective actions to improve performance and minimize downtime. Review, approve, and support the development of new mold tooling and automation equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturing and equipment specifications. Lead supplier equipment runoffs, approve tooling acceptance, and verify incoming equipment meets design requirements. Directly support new product launches through APQP activities, including PFMEAs, Process Flows, Work Instructions, and program deliverables. Partner with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), customer requirements, and aesthetic standards are met. Lead validation trials, feasibility studies, and process testing to optimize materials and manufacturing performance. Develop process specifications, tooling standards, and operator training procedures. Utilize structured root cause analysis and problem-solving methods to resolve equipment downtime, process variation, and customer concerns. Support scrap reduction, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across assigned areas. Support Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management Systems, ensuring compliance with ISO and IATF standards. Provide on-call production support as required and perform additional duties as needed.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
