Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Injection Mold Designer for a contract-to-hire role based in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate has 3–7+ years designing complex injection molds in SolidWorks, with expertise in hot runner systems, mold flow analysis, and DFM/DFMEA.

You will manage mold projects from concept through T1, coordinate with manufacturing and QA, and support mold tryouts, tooling selection, and design-for-molding best practices on regulated medical or high‑complexity

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of injection mold design experience (multi‑cavity, family tools, hot runner, complex actions)
• Expert proficiency with SolidWorks for mold design and 2D detailing (required)
• Demonstrated project management experience leading mold projects from concept through T1 and handover, including schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholder management
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, EDM, tolerancing, and mold steel selection (H13, P20, S7, stainless)
• Understanding of polymer behavior, shrinkage, rheology, and design-for-molding principles

Responsibilities

• Lead mold projects from concept through T1 handover, managing schedule, cost, risk, and stakeholders.
• Oversee mold builds and troubleshooting from concept to production readiness.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and QA on tooling feasibility and process controls.
• Review and issue ECOs and maintain revision control.

Seeking an experienced Injection Mold Designer with 3-7+ years of experience designing complex injection molds in SolidWorks. Candidates should have expertise in mold design, hot runner systems, mold flow analysis, DFM/DFMEA, tooling and EDM processes, polymer behavior, cooling design, and hands‑on mold troubleshooting. Strong project management experience leading mold builds from concept through T1 is required. Preferred experience includes medical or regulated products, conformal cooling, high‑cavitation molds, valve gating, thin‑wall molding, and other advanced mold mechanisms such as unscrewing systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
