Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with injection mold maintenance or repair.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and interpreting drawings.
• Ability to read dimensional requirements from drawings.
• Experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Able to work independently and as part of a technical team.
• Safety-minded with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on plastic injection molds.
• Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, and reassemble injection molds.
• Troubleshoot mold and tooling issues affecting production and quality.
• Repair or replace damaged mold components.
• Inspect and maintain mold cavities, cores, inserts, slides, lifters, ejector systems, leader pins, and bushings.
• Inspect and repair hot runner systems, heaters, thermocouples, and related components.
• Troubleshoot water lines, fittings, O-rings, seals, and cooling circuits.
• Mold spotting, fitting, polishing, bench work, and welding.
• Support emergency mold repairs to reduce downtime.
• Identify recurring tooling problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Read and interpret mold drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges).
• Operate grinders, drill presses, and polishing equipment.
• Assist with mold modifications, engineering changes, trials, and tooling validation.
• Complete preventive maintenance documentation and repair history.
