Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Molding Technician in Lawrence, KS to set up, operate, and maintain molding equipment, ensuring clean, properly installed molds ready for production. You will troubleshoot basic mold issues, verify utility hookups, and keep accurate maintenance records while keeping the work area safe and organized.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic tools, and problem-solving skills; injection molding experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in a technically challenging environment and ability to select and use the correct tool for a task.
• Preference for injection molding experience and ability to identify mold components and terminology.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills for fast-paced settings.
• Clear English communication and instruction-following capability.
• Ability to record precise measurements with basic instruments.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Dependability, adaptability, integrity and intrinsic motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding presses and manage mold installation and repairs.
• Prepare, inspect, and verify molds for production readiness.
• Troubleshoot basic mold-related issues and verify utility hookups and safety features.
• Test molds for electrical, water, and air performance before release.
• Maintain mold heaters and components; keep records of maintenance.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Assist Tool Room with mold and equipment repairs and report needs to leadership.
• Green-tag molds that meet production standards and complete inspections.
