Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Molding Technician to set up, operate, and maintain molding equipment, ensuring molds are clean, installed, and functional. You will troubleshoot mold issues, verify hookups, and document maintenance while keeping workspaces safe and organized.

Responsibilities include operating presses, inspecting molds, testing electrical and fluid connections, and assisting with mold repairs. Strong English communication and basic math are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalent and a valid driver's license required
• Previous experience in selecting and using the correct tool for a task
• Injection molding experience strongly preferred with mold component familiarity
• Must provide own basic hand tools
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills in English
• Accuracy using instruments to record measurements (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Ability to apply basic math to whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
• Dependability, adaptability, integrity and motivation
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Responsibilities

• Operate molding presses and open/close molds for production needs and repairs.
• Set, pull, clean, and inspect molds for proper installation and readiness.
• Troubleshoot basic mold issues and verify nozzle length, carriage, clamps, and safety features.
• Confirm electrical, water, and air hookups are functioning and leak-free; test molds before release.
• Clean and maintain mold heaters and components as needed.
• Keep mold maintenance records with dates and responsible personnel.
• Maintain clean and safe molding areas and shop spaces.
• Assist Tool Room with mold and equipment repairs; report damaged molds or needs.
• Green-tag molds meeting production-ready standards and complete inspections.
• Follow safety procedures and shut down equipment if hazards arise.
